About Carolyn Peck
Carolyn Peck is a former collegiate basketball coach and is currently a television sportscaster. Peck attended Vanderbilt University from 1985-1988 where she played on the women’s basketball team. After graduating from Vanderbilt, Peck was offered an opportunity to play basketball professionally in Spain, but she passed up the opportunity to work as a marketing consultant at a Nashville television station. In 1991, Peck quit her job and played basketball professionally in Italy for three weeks before playing for Japan’s Nippondenso Corporation for two years. Peck began coaching in 1993 when she served as an assistant coach for the Tennessee Lady Vols. She then served as the assistant coach at the University of Kentucky for the 1995-96 season. In 1996, she received another assistant coach position, this time with Purdue and she became Purdue’s head coach in 1997. From 1999-2001, Peck served as a WNBA head coach for the Orlando Miracle. She returned to collegiate coaching on April 3, 2002 when she began coaching for the Florida Gators women’s basketball team at the University of Florida and she remained there until 2007.
