About Cedric Maxwell
Cedric Maxwell is a retired professional small forward for the NBA who is now in radio broadcasting. Maxwell attended the University of North Carolina, Charlotte where he was a star forward/center. In 1977, he led the Charlotte 49ers to the NCAA Final Four and his #33 jersey was retired. The Boston Celtics selected Maxwell as the 12th overall pick in the 1977 NBA Draft. Maxwell spent 11 seasons with the Celtics and during that time, he was a 2x NBA Champion and a NBA Finals MVP. On September 6, 1985, Maxwell was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers where he spent a season and a half. In January 1987, he was traded to the Houston Rockets. Maxwell retired from the NBA after the 1987-88 season. After retiring, the Boston Celtics retired his #31 jersey on December 15, 2003. Maxwell is now a radio broadcaster for WRKO AM in Boston where he announces the Celtic games.
