About Charley Casserly
Charley Casserly made a name for himself with an extensive career in NFL front offices. Beginning as an unpaid intern with the Washington Redskins in 1977, Casserly spent the next 23 years with the franchise, working his way up to General Manager in 1989 for the remaining 10 seasons. During his tenure with the Redskins, the team took 4 trips to the Super Bowl, winning 3 of them. Casserly was known for his ability to find hidden talents and drafting them late in the NFL Draft. After a falling out with team President Dan Snyder, Casserly became the General Manager for the NFLs expansion team the Houston Texans. Casserly made several good picks with the Texans but the team didnt find much success in his tenure with them. Along with being a front office executive, Casserly had a career in broadcasting on both the radio and television, making appearances for ESPN Radio and CBSs The NFL Today.
