About Chip Hale
Chip Hale is the current bench coach for the Washington Nationals. He previously served as the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks for two seasons. Hale was hired as Diamondbacks manager in 2014 after coaching stints in three different organizations. He was the bench coach for the Oakland Athletics before being hired by Arizona. Hale also spent two seasons as the third base coach for the New York Mets and four years as a coach with the Diamondbacks. He also managed the Arizona AAA affiliate the Tucson Sidewinders for three seasons and picked up a Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year award along the way. After playing collegiately at the University of Arizona, Hale was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 17th round of the 1987 MLB Draft. He played for the Twins and Dodgers over an eight-year period.
