About Chris Moneymaker
With a birth name like Chris Moneymaker, there are few careers that he could have chosen that would have been more ironic then professional poker player. Born and bred in Knoxville, Tennessee, Moneymaker was an accountant working from home when he suddenly struck gold. Putting $40 into an online poker site, he transformed that money into a berth to the 2003 World Series of Poker main event. Moneymaker went on to win the Main Event, turning that $40 into $2.5 Million as he revolutionized the game for online poker players. Since his first ever live tournament appearance (and win), Moneymaker quit his job as an accountant to focus on professional poker, playing in large-scale tournaments and starting his own company, Moneymaker Gambling.
