Christian Ponder

Playing in the football-loving state of Texas, Ponder was ranked the 14th quarterback prospect by Rivals.com and after many offers chose to play his college career at Florida State University. Ponder got his shot in his redshirt sophomore year and managed to play just well enough to hold the job throughout the year. In his junior season, Ponder took his game to another level, leading the nation through eight games in many passing categories. Unfortunately, Ponder separated his shoulder in a game against Clemson, which ended his season and spoiled his plan to leave FSU early to head to the NFL. It turned out to be for the best as Ponder returned to FSU for his senior season in 2010 and had his best season as a Seminole under new head coach, Jimbo Fisher. Ponder was selected 12th overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, Ponder led them into the 2012 NFL Playoffs where they lost their first game with an injured Ponder on the bench.
