About Darren Pang
Darren Pang played in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks from 1984 to 1989. He grew up playing hockey in his hometown of Nepean, Ontario and was the first goalie selected by the expansion Belleville Bulls in the OHL. He went on to lead Ottawa 67’s to a Memorial Cup title in 1984 in route to earning top goalie and All-Star honors that season. Pang earned NHL All-Rookie Team honors in 1988 and was a finalist for the Calder Trophy as the league’s rookie of the year. After his career came to an end he took his talents to the broadcast booth as the color commentator for the St. Louis Blues TV broadcasts and also served as a part-time analyst for TSN. Over time he became one of the best in the business and rose to becoming the lead analyst for ESPN National Hockey Night and the NHL on ABC, where he covered over 95 Stanley Cup Finals games and three winter Olympic games over a 13-year span. He has since returned as the lead color commentator for the St. Louis Blues TV broadcasts.
