About Dominique Maltais
Dominique Maltais is an epic snowboarder that has been a top performer on the snow since 2002. Although she did not start in the sport until age 22, she quickly rose to the top and has remained there for more than a decade. Just four years after taking up the sport professionally she took home the bronze at the 2006 Turin Olympic Games in Snowboard Cross. Six years later she reached the peak of snowboarding success when she captured gold at the 2012 Winter X Games in Aspen. That set the stage for her silver medal run in Snowboard Cross at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. In Canada she’s a hero and is recognized nationally for her achievements in the sport. A native of Petite-Riviere-Saint-Francois, Quebec, when she’s not shredding the snow she spends her time in her hometown and works as a firefighter, which she enjoys just as much as snowboarding.
