About Drew Robinson
Drew Robinson has an amazing story of overcoming being at the lowest point in life one can imagine. Robinson was in the minor leagues when he survived a suicide attempt in 2020 that left him with no sense of smell or taste and the loss of his right eye. Afterward, Robinson sought help and resumed his baseball career to great success. He now speaks openly about suicide prevention and mental health.
Robinson was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers. He had several successful seasons in the Rangers organization, including leading the Texas League in home runs and being named a MiLB.com All-Star in 2015. He ended up making his big league debut with the club in 2017 and spent parts of two seasons in Arlington before being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals. Robinson was a part-time player for the Cardinals major league team in 2019 prior to signing with the San Francisco Giants the following offseason.
