About Greg Ellis
Greg Ellis brought his talents to the Dallas Cowboys in 1998 after a stellar career at the University of North Carolina in which he earned Consensus All-American honors in 1997 and First-Team All-ACC honors in his final three seasons. Having left for the NFL as the Tarheels all-time leader in sacks the Cowboys had high expectations for his future in prime time. Over the next 11 seasons he was a leader for the Cowboys, posting 496 total tackles and 77 sacks while also forcing an incredible 23 fumbles, 10 of which he recovered. In 2009 he signed a 3-year, $10 million contract with the Raiders and recorded 26 tackles and 7 sacks in Oakland before hanging up his cleats in 2010. His career accolades include a Pro Bowl selection 2007, the 2007 Comeback Player of the Year Award, and being awarded the Ed Block Courage Award in 2000.
