About Greg Kelser
When you watch a Pistons game on Fox Sports Detroit or turn on the Big Ten Network you hear the voice of Greg Kelser. Kelser has worked as a color commentator and sports announcer since the early 80’s, but it was his career as a basketball player that he is most well-known for. In his college days he teamed up with Magic Johnson at Michigan State and led the Spartans to a National Championship in 1979, all while earning earning Academic All-American honors twice and becoming the first player in Big Ten Conference history to score over 2,000 points and post 1,000 rebounds.
In 1979 he was selected with the 4th overall pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons and went on to play seven seasons at basketball’s most elite level. During his NBA career he saw time with the Pistons, Seattle Supersonics, San Diego Clippers and Indiana Pacers, scoring 2,961 points to go along with 1,402 rebounds and 411 assists. Due to his highly respected career on the court he is one of the most trusted names on sports radio and television today.
