About Rick Mahorn
Standing at 6'10" tall, Rick Mahorn is a former power forward and center of the National Basketball Association. As a part of the Detroit Bad Boys, Rick garnered a reputation as a physical player on the court which aided him in earning his only NBA Championship in 1989. The next season he was traded to the 76ers where he teamed with Charles Barkley and became a part of the top rebounding duo in the league, known as Thump N Bump. Before he decided to retire from playing in 1999, Mahorn racked up 7,763 points, 6,957 rebounds, and 1,007 blocks on his way to becoming a coach. He coached in the CBA as well as the WNBA where he aided the Detroit Shock in winning two WNBA Championships in 2006 and 2008. After the Shock moved to Oklahoma, Rick took up a position that he still holds as a color commentator for the Detroit Pistons radio broadcasts.
