About Hollis Thomas
Hollis Thomas is a retired NFL defensive end who spent 14 seasons in the NFL with four separate teams. Thomas attended Northern Illinois University, earning All-Big West honors in 1995, but he went undrafted in the 1996 NFL Draft, instead signing as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles. In his rookie season, Thomas was named to the Football News AllRookie Team, and he became a major part of the Eagles’ defense for ten seasons. In 2005, Thomas was traded to the New Orleans Saints, earning a contract extension in 2008 after a successful first three seasons with the team. Unfortunately, Thomas was cut by the Saints in 2009, and eventually found himself as a member of the Carolina Panthers for the rest of the 2009 season after starting with the St. Louis Rams. In 2010, Thomas tried to make a comeback with the Omaha Nighthawks in the UFL, but he never played a game, ending his career. Thomas is now a radio sports analyst in Philadelphia and a defensive back coach with the Philadelphia Soul of the AFL.
