About Ilia Malinin
Ilia Malinin, nicknamed "Quad God," is an American figure skater revolutionizing men's singles with unprecedented technical feats. The only skater to land a clean quadruple Axel in competition (2022), he has since achieved all six quad types in one program (2025 Worlds) and a record seven quads, including the Axel (2025 Grand Prix Final). Son of former Uzbek Olympic skaters Tatiana Malinina and Roman Skorniakov, Malinin won the 2022 World Junior title, followed by senior breakthroughs: World bronze (2023), back-to-back World golds (2024–2025), three consecutive U.S. titles (2023–2025), and three straight Grand Prix Final wins (2023–2025). Entering 2026 as the prohibitive favorite for Olympic gold at Milano Cortina, he holds multiple scoring records and aims for multiple Olympic cycles.
