About Johnny Weir
Johnny Weir is a star on ice and one of the most decorated American male figure skaters in history. In 2001 he put his name on the map by capturing the 2001 World Junior Championship, which solidified him as a top international competitor. He’d go on to win three consecutive United States National Championships from 2004 to 2006 and compete in the 2006 Olympic Games where he finished 5th. Since that time he has won two bronze medals at the Grand Prix Final from 2008 to 2010 and captured a bronze medal at the 2008 World Championships. In 2010 he made a second Olympic appearance and represented the United States well, finishing a competitive 6th place in a top international field. During his career he has been actively involved in commercial campaigns, made several realty television show appearances and pursued a successful careers in fashion design, commentary, and writing. Currently Weir serves on the board of governors of nPlay, a nonprofit organization devoted to fighting childhood obesity and promoting a healthy lifestyle for youngsters.
