About Jim Haslett
Jim Haslett is a former NFL head coach and current defensive coordinator. Haslett coached the New Orleans Saints from 2000-2005. In his first season, the Saints went 10-6, won the NFC West, and he was named NFL Coach of the Year. Following his time in New Orleans, Haslett became the defensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams and in his final season with the franchise, he served as interim head coach. The next season he would earn Coach of the Year honors in the short-lived United Football League after coaching the Florida Tuskers to a 6-0 record. Haslett just concluded a five-year run as the defensive coordinator of the Washington Redskins. Prior to becoming a head coach in New Orleans, he held assistant coaching jobs with the Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Los Angeles Rams. Haslett started his coaching career at the University of Buffalo. He had a successful eight-year playing career, winning the 1979 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award and following that up with an All-Pro selection in 1980. Haslett played collegiately at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a College Football Hall of Fame inductee.
