About Jimmy Smith
Jimmy Smith joined the Dallas Cowboys as a second round pick in 1992 out of Jackson State University and enjoyed a successful 13-year NFL career. During his days at Jackson State he caught 85 passes for 1,095 yards and double digit touchdowns while displaying unbelievable athletic ability that NFL scouts believed would make him an elite wide receiver in the National Football League. In the 1992 NFL Draft he was selected with the 36th overall pick by the Cowboys and helped Dallas to consecutive Super Bowl titles in 1992 and 1993 before briefly joining the Philadelphia Eagles for one season in 1994. In 1995 he joined the Jacksonville Jaguars and went on to earn five Pro Bowl selections and two NFL All-Pro nods from 1995 to 2005. During his time with the Jags he broke three NFL records and seven Jacksonville franchise records in route to recording 12,287 receiving yards and scoring 67 career touchdowns.
