About Joe Ehrmann
Joe Ehrmann played ten seasons in the NFL with the Baltimore Colts and Detroit Lions from 1973 to 1982 after a successful collegiate career as a defensive lineman at Syracuse University. While at Syracuse he was a three-year starter and earned All-American honors in 1970. For his decorated career as the captain of the Orange’s defensive line he was named to the Syracuse football All-Century Team in 1999 and awarded the George Arents Pioneers Medal in 2004. In the 1973 NFL Draft he was selected in the first round with the 10th overall pick by the Baltimore Colts and would go on to earn a Pro Bowl appearance in 1976 before joining the Detroit Lions in 1981. After his decade long career in the NFL he played three years in the USFL with the Chicago Blitz, Arizona Wranglers and Orlando Renegades. Since his retirement he has toured the country as a minister and inspirational motivational speaker.
