About Joe Sacco
Joe Sacco played 14 seasons in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, New York Islanders, Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers from 1990 to 2003 after a stellar collegiate career at Boston University. During his playing career he scored 94 goals and added 119 assists for a total of 213 points in 738 games while also player excellent defense. Two years after his retirement from playing he was hired as an assistant coach with the Colorado Avalanche’s minor league affiliate Lowell Lock Monsters and eventually landed the head-coaching job in Colorado. During his four-year stint as the Avalanche head coach from 2009 to 2013 he led his team to 130 wins and a playoff appearance in 2010. After the 2013 season he signed on as an assistant with the Buffalo Sabres and was hired as an assistant with his home town Boston Bruins in 2014.
