John Juanda

John Juanda was born and Indonesia and came to the United States in 1990 to go to school at Oklahoma State University. After earning his undergraduate degree from OSU he attended Seattle University and earned his masters in business administration. After college he got into poker and realized very quickly that he had a knack for it. In 2001 and 2002 he earned Cardplayer Magazine’s tournament Player of the Year honors, and has since become one of the top players in the world. In 2002 he captured his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the $1,500 Triple Draw Lowball Ace to Five event. The following year he earned two WSOP bracelets in the $2,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Split and $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha events. Since that time he has earned two more World Series of Poker Bracelets in the 2008 $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Main Event and 2011 $10,000 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship. His win in 2008 earned him a $1.5 million prize. As of 2014 he has earned over $16 million in poker winnings, including $4.7 in World Series of Poker events.
