About John Metchie III
John Metchie III is a star wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers. The Houston Texans originally selected him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He is the latest in a great line of Alabama wide receivers. Metchie exploded as a sophomore, going for 916 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He also won the 2020 Jon Cornish Trophy as the top Canadian in college football. During his true freshman season, Metchie helped the Tide win a National Championship. Metchie has a unique background, being born in Taiwan and growing up in Ghana and Canada before moving to the U.S. for high school.
