Josh Dobbs

Josh Dobbs has had a remarkable run as a starter and backup quarterback in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers originally selected Dobbs in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft and he spent his first five seasons in the league there. Dobbs played sparingly in Pittsburgh in two separate stints with the team and did not see the field for either the Jacksonville Jaguars or Cleveland Browns before getting a chance to start his first NFL game with the Tennessee Titans in 2022.

Dobbs parlayed that into an eight-game starting assignment to start the year for the Arizona Cardinals in 2023, throwing for 1,569 yards and eight touchdowns while completing over 60 percent of his passes. He was then traded midyear to the Minnesota Vikings and was thrust into action, helping the team win in his first game.

No matter what Dobbs does in the pros, however, he will always be known as a Tennessee Vol. He played all four college seasons and was the primary starting quarterback for two years at the University of Tennessee. As a senior, Dobbs threw for 2,946 yards and 27 touchdowns against just 12 interceptions. He was MVP of the TaxSlayer Bowl in 2015 and MVP of the Music City Bowl in his final college game in 2016. Dobbs was a two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Week during his Vols career. Dobbs was an aerospace engineering major at UT and received the school's highest undergraduate student honor, the 2017 Torchbearer Award. He was born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia and attended Alpharetta High School before coming to Knoxville.
