About Kalani Sitake
Kalani Sitake is the head football coach at Brigham Young University. He was hired to run the Cougars program in 2016 after serving as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Oregon State for one season. The announcement of his hiring served as a great homecoming for Sitake, who is a former BYU fullback. He is the first Tongan to be a college football head coach. From 2005-2014, Sitake honed his coaching talents while serving in a variety of capacities at the University of Utah. He eventually was promoted to associate head coach and defensive coordinator while still coaching linebackers as he had done since being hired in 2005. Before coming to the Utes program, Sitake spent two years at Southern Utah. His coaching career started with one year as an assitant at Eastern Arizona before serving a stint as a graduate assistant at BYU.
