Ken Dryden

Ken Dryden is a legendary Montreal Canadiens goalie. The five-time All-Star won six Stanley Cups with the Canadiens and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983. There were just two years in his relatively short career where Dryden was not holding up Lord Stanley at the end of the season. In his first playoffs, he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs. Playing in the midst of the Montreal dynasty, Dryden retired with a 258-57 record and a 2.24 goals against average. The Cornell and McGill Law graduate had plenty of other things to accomplish once his playing days were over. Dryden became an author and hockey analyst, serving as Al Michaels color commentator for the Miracle on Ice. In the late 1990s, he also took on a front office role with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dryden is best known today in Canada for his turn in the political world. For eight years he served in the Canadian Parliament as a member of the Liberal Party.
