About Kenny Smith
Kenny Smith had a successful NBA career, but he is now better known as an analyst on one of the most successful sports studio shows ever. Smith joined TNT in 1998 and the cast of Inside the NBA. That followed a standout ten-year playing career. Six of those seasons were spent with the Houston Rockets, where Smith won two NBA Championships. He leads the Rockets franchise in career three-point field goal percentage and totaled 9,397 points in his career. The Sacramento Kings originally selected Smith sixth overall in the 1987 NBA Draft out of North Carolina. Smith holds the Tar Heels career record for assists. He is part of a great tradition of New York City point guards having grown up in Queens and attending the legendary Archbishop Malloy High School. In his current role with TNT, Smith also is a studio analyst during the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
