About Kurt Suzuki
Kurt Suzuki is a former MLB All-Star catcher and current Los Angeles Angels manager. A Japanese American, he starred at Cal State Fullerton, winning the 2004 Johnny Bench Award and a College World Series title. Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 2004, Suzuki played 16 seasons (2007-22) for five teams, including the Nationals, Twins, Braves, and Angels. He recorded 1,421 hits, 143 HRs, 654 RBIs, and a .994 fielding percentage in 1,474 games caught. Notable achievements include a 2014 All-Star selection and a 2019 World Series championship with Washington. After retiring, he became a special assistant before transitioning to being namedthe Angels manager.
