About Larry Csonka
Larry Csonka is a former professional football fullback who played with the Miami Dolphins of the NFL. Csonka attended college at Syracuse University where he played middle linebacker in his first season before being switched to fullback where he was named an All-American. During is college career; Csonka was the Most Valuable Player in the East-West Shrine Game, the Hula Bowl, and the College All-Star Game. He was enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989. The Miami Dolphins selected Csonka as the number 1 overall pick in the 1968 Common Draft. During the 1972 season, the Miami Dolphins were the only team to go undefeated since the AFL-NFL Merger and Csonka was an instrumental part of the Dolphins’ success. Csonka was named Super Bowl VII MVP. In 1974, Csonka announced that he signed a contract to play in the World Football League starting in 1975. Csonka only spent one season in the WFL before signing with the NY Giants in 1976. Csonka was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.
