About Lenny Krayzelburg
Lenny Krayzelburg is a four-time Olympic gold medal swimmer and former world record holder in the 50-meter, 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke. Krayzelburg began his college career at Santa Monica College and won junior college national championships in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke before heading to the University of Southern California. While at USC he became a naturalized citizen, having been born in Ukraine, and won gold medals in the 100 and 200-meter backstroke and 4x100-meter medley at the 1997 Pan Pacific Championships. He went on to win two gold medals in the 100 and 200-meter backstroke at the 1998 World Championships and a silver medal in the 4x100-meter medley. After winning three more gold medals at the 1999 Pan Pacific Games and a gold and silver at the short course World Championships in the 4x100-meter and 50-meter backstroke respectively, he headed to the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. In Sydney he won gold in the 100 and 200-meter backstroke and gold in the 4x100-meter relay. He defended the 4x100-meter gold in 2004 at the Athens Olympics. Krayzelburg is one of the most decorated swimmers in US Olympic history, and continues to be a valuable ambassador for the sport to this day.
