About Linda Cohn
When Linda Cohn is anchoring the ESPN SportsCenter desk you know that you are going to get a solid show. A native New Yorker, Cohn grew up a sports fan and played hockey in college, where her passion for sports and journalism meshed perfectly to shape her future career as a sportscaster.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in communications from State University of New York at Oswego in 1981 she joined a local New York radio station as a sports anchor and began making a name for herself at several radio and television stations throughout the 80’s. In 1987 Cohn landed a spot at ABC as a full-time sports anchor, making her the first female to earn a spot as a full-time sports anchor.
In 1992 ESPN hired Cohn to be a headline anchor on SportsCenter. Since that time she’s become one of the faces of ESPN, lending her talents to provide play-by-play for WNBA telecasts and also branching out to host her own podcast, “Listen Closely to Linda Cohn.”
