About Louie Vito
Louie Vito is one of the most decorated snowboarding champions in United States history. Vito was born in Columbus, Ohio and moved to Vermont as a teenager to pursue a snowboarding career at Stratton Mountain School. At the age of 17 he completed a backside 1080 at the Australian Open Snowboarding Championship and became the first rider to ever complete that trick at an Australian event. That maneuver would launch him into superstardom. Since that time he has become a decorated champion in the Superpipe, winning a gold medal, five silver medals and two bronze medals at the Burton Global Open Series, 10 gold medals, eight silver medals and a bronze medal at the U.S Snowboarding Grand Prix, five gold medals and three silver medals on the Winter Dew Tour, a silver medal and a bronze medal at the Winter X Games, and two gold medals, a silver and a bronze at the Winter X Games Europe. Off the slopes Vito is a dedicated philanthropist, holding his Louie Vito Rail Jam in his hometown at Mad River Mountain to support St. Vincent De Paul in their mission to provide food to locals everyone who attends the event.
