About Manny Machado
Manny Machado is one of the top stars in baseball and he currently mans third base for the San Diego Padres. In 2013, Machado made the American League All-Star team and won a Gold Glove for the first time. That season he also led the AL in doubles and finished with a .283 average. He became the first Baltimore Orioles third baseman to win a Gold Glove since Brooks Robinson. He went on to win another Gold Glove in 2015 and receive three more All-Star selections with Baltimore. On August 9th 2012, Machado originally debuted in the major leagues and in his second game he became the youngest Oriole to ever have a multi-home run game. He was always a highly regarded prospect and participated in the 2012 Futures Game. Machado was the third overall pick out of Brito High School in 2010. He is a native of Miami, Florida. At Brito, many compared the then shortstop to former local prep star Alex Rodriguez. He hit .639 as a high school senior. Machado is married to the sister of MLB first baseman Yonder Alonso.
