About Mark Few
Mark Few is a college basketball coach, currently leading the men’s basketball team at Gonzaga University. Born in 1962 in Oregon to a Presbyterian pastor, Few attended high school in his home town and grew up playing basketball and baseball. Few attended Linfield College hoping to do the same, but his dreams were trampled due to a dislocated shoulder that was obtained from high school football. Even before graduating from college, Few began his coaching career. With a passion so strong for coaching, he went back to his high school and served as an unpaid assistant for three years, eventually earning a paid position. Few later moved to Washington in 1989 to join the Gonzaga staff. Being on the Bulldogs’ sidelines for ten years watching the team grow and encouraging them along the way, it was no surprise when Few was given the head coach position in 1999. He since has an outstanding record of 412-101, also winning eleven WCC Tournament Championships since 2000 and thirteen WCC Regular Season Championships since 2001. Few has also been named the WCC Coach of the Year not one or two, but ten times.
