Mark Langston

Mark Langston is most famously known as a former Major League Baseball lefthanded pitcher that spent the majority of his playing years with the Angles of Anaheim. Born in 1960 in San Diego, California, Langston was a Californian at heart. He debuted professionally with the Seattle Mariners in 1984, playing for them for five years and earning an All-Star and two Gold Glove Awards. After being involved in a trade with Randy Johnson that sent him to Montreal in 1989, he went on to play for the Expos for a season before being traded again to the California / Anaheim Angels, with whom he played for until 1997. Langston spent one season wit the San Diego Padres and went on to retire after his last playing season under the Cleveland Indians in 1999. Throughout the entirety of his career, Langston became known for his pickoffs, retiring with a grand total of 91, which was the most in baseball history at that time. He managed to retire with an impressive 2,464 strikeouts, as well, and a total of seven Gold Glove Awards. After retiring as a player, Langston went back to his beloved Los Angeles Angels to serve a radio color commentator during the home games, which he still does to date. In addition, Langston has become a co-host of Angel Talk, the Angels post-game radio television show.
