About Matt Barkley
Matt Barkley is a professional football quarterback. Barkley was born and raised in California where he attended Mater Dei High School where he became the first freshman quarterback to start since Todd Marinovich. In 2007, Barkley was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year, USA Today High School All-American, and he was the winner of the Glenn Davis Award and the Joe Montana Award. Barkley attended the University of Southern California where he played on the Trojans’ football team from 2009-2012. In 2011, Barkley was named to the Second-team AllPac-12 and in 2012; Barkley was the winner of the Wuerffel Trophy. As a senior, Barkley was unable to play in the Sun Bowl due to a shoulder injury. This injury would go on and affect his draft stock. The Philadelphia Eagles selected Barkley in the 4th round as the 98th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Barkley made his NFL debut on October 20, 2013 against the Dallas Cowboys.
