About Matt Barnes
Matt Barnes has been a consistent presence in the Boston Red Sox bullpen since 2014. Barnes has had great postseason success as well, helping the Red Sox win the 2018 World Series. Barnes posted over 60 appearances each year from 2016-19 then became Boston's closer for the first time in 2020. He carried that new role into 2021, closing six games in the first month of the season on the way to being named American League Reliever of the Month. That strong start also saw Barnes named to his first All-Star season.
