Matt Carpenter

Matt Carpenter is a versatile star, spending his second tenure with the St. Louis Cardinals. Carpenter made his name spending over a decade in his first stint with the Cardinals, where he became a three-time All-Star. He made back-to-back All-Star appearances in 2013 and 2014. As a second baseman, he won the National League Silver Slugger in 2013. That season, he led the major leagues in hits, runs, and doubles. Two seasons later, Carpenter also led MLB in doubles. He originally debuted with the Cardinals in 2011. Carpenter was selected by the franchise in the 13th round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He played collegiately at Texas Christian University. Carpenter holds school records for games played and at-bats while ranking second in hits, doubles, and walks. He was a three-time second-team All-Mountain West Conference choice for the Horned Frogs.
