About Matt Leinart
Matt Leinart is a professional football quarterback for the NFL. Leinart was born with strabismus and had to undergo surgery at three years old. Leinart had to wear special glasses to correct his eyes, and he was also overweight, which made him a target for bullying. It was because of the bullying that Leinart turned to sports. While in high school, Leinart was a letterman in football. Leinart was considered one of the nation’s top college football recruit and he attended the University of Southern California. Leinart was redshirted in his freshman year. In 2003, Leinart beat Matt Cassel for the starting quarterback position. After graduating from USC, Leinart’s No. 11 jersey was retired. The Arizona Cardinals selected Leinart in the 1st round as the 10th overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. Leinart spent four years with the Cardinals where he was mostly a backup quarterback. The then played for the Houston Texans and the Oakland Raiders.
