Norm Chow

Norm Chow is a head football coach and former player. Chow is currently the head football coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Chow attended the University of Utah where he played football for the Utes. He was a two-year starter and a threeyear letterman offensive guard. During his senior season, Chow was named to the All-WAC first team and gained All-America honorable mention honors. Chow’s coaching career began in Hawaii at Waialua High and Intermediate School, where he was the head coach from 1970 to 1972. He left Waialua High and Intermediate School in 1973 to be a Graduate Assistant under LaVell Edwards at BYU. In 1976, he became the receiver’s coach at BYU and remained in that position until 1982. Chow was named as principal offensive play-caller in 1982 and he continued to call the offensive plays for the remainder of his time at BYU. Chow became the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at NC State in 2000. In 2001 he became the offensive coordinator at USC. Chow then became the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. He also coached for UCLA and the University of Utah before becoming the head coach at Hawaii in 2012.
