About Ozzie Guillen
Ozzie Guillen is a former MLB shortstop and MLB manager, last managing the Miami Marlins 2012.Originally from Venezuela, Guillen broke into the Major Leagues in 1984 with the Chicago White Sox,winning the American League Rookie of the Year honorsand winning a fielding title. After a successful12 year career with the White Sox, Guillen opted to sign with the Baltimore Orioles in 1998, then withthe Atlanta Braves that same season. Guillen’s final season as a player came in 2000 with the Tampa BayDevil Rays, as he retired at the end of the season. Over his fifteen year career, Guillen was a three timeAll-Star and two time World Series Champion. Guillen was named the manager of the Chicago White Soxin 2004, guiding them to their first World Series victory since 1917 in 2005. Personal differences with thegeneral manager led Guillen to being released from his contract to coach the Miami Marlins for the 2012season. Guillen would only coach one season in Miami, as he was fired after the 2012 season aftermaking questionable personnel decisions and making controversial statements.
