About Pete Golding
Pete Golding is the head football coach at the University of Mississippi, renowned for his defensive expertise. A standout safety at Delta State University (2002–2005), where he amassed 285 tackles and nine interceptions, Golding began coaching as a graduate assistant there in 2006. His career ascended through stops at Tusculum, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, UTSA, and Delta State again. In 2018, he joined Nick Saban's Alabama staff as defensive coordinator, securing three SEC titles (2018, 2020, 2021) and the 2020 national championship. Since 2023 at Ole Miss, Golding has orchestrated top-SEC defenses and mentored numerous NFL Draft picks. On November 30, 2025, following Lane Kiffin's departure to LSU, Golding was named Ole Miss's 40th head coach, poised to lead the No. 6-ranked Rebels in their inaugural College Football Playoff run.
