About Plaxico Burress
Plaxico Burress was born in Norfolk, Virginia and played his college football at Michigan State University. During his time at Michigan State he was a star wide receiver for the Spartans and set a Big Ten Conference single-season record with 65 catches during his freshman season. He went on to record 131 receptions for 2,155 yards and 20 touchdowns during his career, which ranks third all-time in school history. After earning All-Big Ten honors in consecutive seasons he was selected in the first round with the 8th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2000 NFL Draft. He’s gone on to become one of the NFL’s elite wide outs, catching 553 passes for 8,499 yards and 64 career touchdowns while playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and New York Jets. Since leaving the NFL in 2013 he has joined the SportsNet crew in New York as an expert football analyst.
