About Rick Aguilera
Rick Aguilera is a former pitcher in Major League Baseball. Throughout high school and the early part of his college career Rick played third base before transitioning to becoming a pitcher while at BYU. In the 1983 MLB Draft Aguilera was drafted by the New York Mets and made his major league debut in 1985 where he pitched two innings of scoreless relief and got the win. His success continued throughout his 16 year career where he played for the Mets, the Minnesota Twins, the Boston Red Sox, and the Chicago Cubs. He pitched in a total of 732 games with a record of 86-81 with 1,030 strikeouts and 318 saves. It was that kind of pitching that earned Rick three All-Star selections, two World Series Championships and a spot in the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame. Since his retirement Rick has stayed busy serving as a pitching coach and later, head coach for the local Santa Fe Christian High School baseball team.
