About Robin Ventura
Robin Ventura is a former Major League Baseball player and manager for the Chicago White Sox. Ventura spent three years at Oklahoma State University where he set a record for consecutive game hitting streak with 58 as a freshman. He also led the whole nation in runs with 107, RBI's with 96, and total bases with 204 in only 69 games.
Due to his outstanding play as a collegiate athlete, Ventura was awarded both the Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spike Award. Robin was awarded the honor of being a member of the College Baseball Hall of Fame in the inaugural class.
Robin went on to play for the Chicago White Sox starting in 1989, and retired with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2004. He finished his career as a two-time All-Star and a six-time Gold Glove Award winner.
After retirement from playing professional baseball, Ventura came back to the team that he played for as a rookie in the league, and became the team's manager in 2012. Ventura managed the White Sox for five seasons.
