Ron Francis

Ron Francis began his 23 year NHL career in 1981 when he was drafted 4th overall by the Hartford Whalers in the NHL Entry Draft. His first ten seasons were spent with the Whalers and by the end of his career with the team, he had set almost every major offensive record for the franchise. In 1990 he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins and helped the team to win two consecutive Stanley Cups, the only two of Francis's career. Francis then returned to his old team, whom at that time had been moved to Carolina as the Carolina Panthers, where he added to his franchise records that he still holds to this day in points, goals, assists, and games played. Francis ended his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2005 still currently ranks 2nd in career assists, 3rd in games played, and 4th in career points. After his retirement, he joined the Hurricanes franchise as Director of Player Operations and eventually became the team's general manager. He is currently the first general manager in Seattle Kraken history.
