Ryan Fitzpatrick

Ryan Fitzpatrick has an amazing story that improbably led him all the way through a 17-year NFL career. Fitzpatrick grew up in Gilbert, Arizona with a strong background in both academics and sports. In fact, he majored in economics at Harvard University while earning Ivy League MVP honors. He became the first quarterback in Harvard history to rush over 1,000 yards in a career and to no surprise, was viewed as the total package. While all incoming NFL rookies are required to take a cognitive ability test known as the Wonderlic Test, Fitzpatrick achieved the highest score ever on the test among quarterbacks.

Fitzpatrick was known throughout his career for delivering special moments, which earned him the nickname, "FitzMagic." He spent three seasons as the primary starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills and threw for over 3,000 yards each year. Fitzpatrick had a career year with the New York Jets in 2015, starting all 16 games for just the third time in his career while throwing for 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns. He set the new Jets franchise record for touchdown throws in a season. Fitzpatrick had another moment in the sun in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he became the first player in NFL history to throw for 400 yards in three straight games. In 2021, Fitzpatrick started for his record ninth NFL team in Washington.
