Sammy Carlson

Sammy Carlson is most famously known as an outstanding freeskier who grew up in the mountains of Oregon throughout the ‘90’s and early 2000’s. Specifically learning how to ski on Mt. Hood, Carlson and his family could be found out there on the slopes more often than not. Throughout his childhood, he was frequently caught watching skiing videos when he was supposed to be doing homework. However, it seems to have paid off, along with his hard work and dedication to the sport over the years. Carlson began attending the Windells summer camp at age 12 and has since become the first skier to ever execute a move known as the switch tripe rodeo 1260. He has been competing for the United States since 2007 in both the Winter X Games and the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships. He honorably became an Olympic gold medalist at the 2011 Winter X Games in Aspen. Carlson has been sponsored by APO Skis, Oakley, Rockstar Energy, Nike, and a variety of other companies and organizations. He is also heavily involved in foundations supporting autism, including the Northwest Autism Foundation and Talk About Curing Autism. Carlson is a role model to others both on and off the slopes as he displays tremendous character and is as humble as ever despite his amazing talent.
