About Sterling Marlin
Sterling Marlin, now retired, was an American stock car racing driver. Son of the late NASCAR driver Coo Coo Marlin, Sterling did not hesitate to follow in his father’s footsteps. His earliest achievements include the winning title for the 1994 and 1995 Daytona 500 and the 1996 Winston 500. Marlin was also crowned the Nashville Speedway USA Track Champion for three consecutive years in 1980-1982. Having grown up in Columbia, Tennessee, Marlin will forever leave his mark there as he was named Tennessee Professional Athlete of the Year for two consecutive years early on his career (1995- 1996). In addition, Marlin’s achievements will always be recognized through his induction in the Fairgrounds Speedway Hall of Fame in 2009.
