Steve Finley

Steve Finley, currently retired from the MLB, had quite the professional baseball career. As a two-time All Star (1997, 2000), World Series champion (2001), and five-time Gold Glove Award winner (1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2004), Finley will always be remembered as a highly qualified and skilled center fielder. After humbly rejecting his first MLB offer in the 11th round of the 1986 Draft by the Atlanta Braves, Finley instead chose to continue playing at Southern Illinois University for the remainder of his college years. However, the MLB opportunity did not pass him by, as he went on to make his debut in 1989 with the Baltimore Orioles. He has since played for the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, San Francisco Giants, and Colorado Rockies. In 2006, Finley became the oldest player ever to play more than 100 games in center field, at the age of 41. Finley is also remembered for being a recipient of the Heart and Hustle Award in 2006.
