About Steve Pearce
Steve Pearce was born April 13, 1983 and is a left fielder and first baseman for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He throws and bats right-handed, and is listed at 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) and 200 pounds (91 kg). Pearce previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles, and Toronto Blue Jays. Pearce is only the second player in MLB history to have played for every team in the American League East, the first being Kelly Johnson. After an injury to regular first baseman Mitch Moreland in Game 2 of the American League Division Series, Pearce became the everyday first baseman for the Red Sox in the playoffs. On October 16, in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series, Pearce hit a go-ahead home run off Joe Smith in the sixth inning at Minute Maid Park in a game the Red Sox eventually won 8-2. He had a base clearing double in the top of the 9th inning of the 4th game of the 2018 World Series vs the Los Angeles Dodgers.
