About Terry Baker
Terry Baker is a former professional quarterback, and the 1962 Heisman Trophy Winner, playingfor the Oregon State Beavers.Baker played three years for the Beavers, proving to be a dualthreat as a QB, posting gaudy numbers over his career. Throwing for 3,476 yards and 23touchdowns while also rushing for 1,503 yards and 15 touchdowns, Baker was a true force atQB. Baker was named the Heisman Trophy winner in 1962, a season in which he also won theMaxwell Award, The Sportsman of the Year award, All-American Honors, and many moreprestigious honors. This phenomenal collegiate performance led to Baker beingdrafted by theLos Angeles Rams with the first pick of the 1963 NFL Draft. Baker would struggle in the NFL,throwing fourinterceptions and no touchdowns over his rocky three seasons with the Rams.After leaving the NFL in 1965, Baker would go onto play for the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFLin 1966, leaving after only a year. In 1982, Baker would be inducted into the College FootballHall of Fame, leaving a permanent impact on the NCAA for years to come. Baker is now aretired attorney, and enjoys his retirement while living in Oregon.
